Another "plenaire" painting in my backyard in Alaska. Because of the prolific activity of mosquitoes in the far north, painting outdoors is not always the pleasant experience it is supposed to be.  However, I found a sunny day and took advantage of a wildflower packet I had planted in early spring. It proved to be not only a great subject matter for a painting but also served as a cutting garden well into the fall.
