The Farmer's Market in Moscow presents a weekly feast for shoppers every Saturday morning as well as plenty of opportunity for artists to record subject material for future paintings. This vendor was displaying boxes of colorful chiles, gourds, and other unusual fruits that caught my eye as a potential painting. However, the photograph sat in my files for over a year before I dared to bring it to life on the canvas.  It has become one of my favorites.
