High noon in the Arctic winter casts an ominous glow, with long shadows. Temperatures can dip to 40-60 degrees below zero, but life goes on in spite of it. When the temperature for the day soars to 15 degrees, it’s time to let the children take the dog for a stroll or a sleigh ride (in this case). This house stood out on a busy Fairbanks street as the oldest one on the block, so I envisioned what it might have looked like during its heyday!
